Wow! I knew the yellow crocus bloomed before the purple ones, but I didn't realize the light-to-dark tendency applied to all bulbs. Neat! I have hundreds of day lilies and dozens of varieties - now I'll notice what order they bloom in!
Just saw purple crocuses in the back of the apartment--the unkempt grass mass where groundhogs dwell, occasional bottles and trash appear. Nice decoration for the groundhogs.

Lovely photos. I just found out that the bulbs bloom in order of colour, lightest to darkest, who'd of thunk?

The purple/blue crocuses are radiantly stunning in their simplicity. So beautiful!
