HOLIDAY SHOPPING for Songbird Art!

Christmas Cardinals

In preparing for the holidays, I've created a series of 4x6" prints (matted in 8x10" mats and sold in plastic envelopes) from my original bird paintings. There is a good selection of song birds available, plus a few raven prints.

More Christmas Cardinals plus One Raven

And a set of 3 Carolina Wrens - can be purchased as a set or separately:

Followed by various USA songbirds, 2 Ravens, and a baby Crow:

The group below are square prints, matted in 8" square mats for $25/each.

Each print sells for $32.00. However, if multiples are purchased, a reduction will be made for such sales. The prints can be sent anywhere in the USA by US Priority Mail Envelop for $10.00 per envelop.

If you are interested in making a purchase, you may contact me via my Facebook page, using Facebook Messenger to ask questions, select a print, provide the mailing address and arrange payments via PayPal

Here's wishing you an easy shopping season and joyous holidays!

Some Recent Watercolors! For the Love of Birds!!!

Great Blue Heron in Flight

As you might imagine, I've been super busy since the last posting. My art show at the Bellefonte Art Museum was a fantastic success - 1/3 of the paintings were sold! Then there was the museum's annual Christmas exhibit/sale... And then I joined a new location for selling my work, The Gallery Shop in Lemont, PA. I'm already a member of Art a la Carte, in downtown Bellefonte, and I still have a few pieces in the Bellefonte Art Museum's gift shop. Keeping new work at each location takes time, energy, and enthusiasm!

Here are a few of my latest watercolors. Most are currently out at the above sites.

Blue Jay

Rufus-sided Towhee

White Throated Sparrow
Winter Cardinal

Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Carolina Wren

Black-capped Chickadee

Goldfinch

Tuftet Titmouse

As you can see, I've been busy painting! There's also a new temporary location for some of my work, the Nittany Valley Chiropractic in State College, PA. I'll be hanging the exhibit tomorrow (weather allowing!) and the show will be up throughout March and April, 2022.

Meanwhile, one of our granddaughter's and her two daughters have temporarily moved in with us until she can find a good job and then a nice apartment. She is relocating to Centre County and we're delighted to have her with us!

The Newest Bird Portraits

My painting was halted for much of the month, between the sprained ankle and opposite twisted knee! I couldn't stand and had to keep my feet up to reduce the swelling and speed up the healing. When I finally was mobile once again, I was behind in everything, of course. So I've been trying to volunteer at CentrePeace, Inc. an extra day per week - especially since we have so many snow bird volunteers who have flown off to Florida!

Today, I finally had a whole day off. I didn't even turn on the computer until after I'd been painting for a few hours! I'm getting proud of myself when I avoid Facebook and Pinterest in favor of painting!

So two more bird portraits are now completed (above), and I spend the afternoon working on two more new ones (below).

I'm appropriately tired of being on my feet all day, but am happy with all the work I did today!

The Bird Portraits - continued

Sorry for the tardy follow-up to the bird portrait series. We've had a few major changes in our life, including the departure of our granddaughter and twin-great-grandaughters followed by our move to a new home. I'll write about that another time.

So here are the bird portraits insofar as they have progressed. I have some finishing details to add to a couple of them and more work to do on a few. But it's time to reveal the work and get some feedback.

All the portraits are on 12" x 12" stretched canvases and painted with artist quality acrylic paints.

Let me know what you think! Suggestions welcome.
