Winter 2020

It's been a mild winter, thus far, in central Pennsylvania. Here is some of the beauty which we've enjoyed this year, although snow has been at a minimum! More rain than snow, but I'll post the snow photos to celebrate the winter as it fades softly into Spring...

This is to remind this Minnesota-born and bred lady what Winter is supposed to look like all the time!

November Ice Storm in Central PA

I was out to volunteer my time at the Bellefonte Art Museum today, so had the chance to take some glorious wintry photos of our ice storm. Fortunately for me, the streets were fairly decent to drive on. The sidewalks, however, were NOT ideal! I remembered (but only as I was leaving the museum) that I had salt in the trunk of the car. I'm a Minnesota native. We always prepare for bad weather when the first snow storm is on the horizon. And that storm was over a week ago - all 10" of it! So I salted the museum sidewalk and steps to the front door. We had quite a few visitors today - most participating in the Bellefonte Scavenger Hunt!

Here are a few of the photos I took while at the museum and on my way home. Enjoy!

Our ornamental cherry tree encased in ice.

Below, I went to the top of Valentine Hill to take these shots. It was spectacular!

Various weeds encased in ice creating a winter wonderland!

Valentine Hill Road

Below are various shots from Paradise Hill where our development is located.

Sunset, such as it was, after the ice. The rain kept falling as temps were hovering around 34 degrees.

So, surely winter is here, although it has a few days before officially arriving! But we've had snow in abundance already! The first photo below is our home just before the big (10"+) snow storm.

And our Spunky, after she dried off from rolling in the snow - her favorite winter passtime!

Happy Winter! Happy preparations for the upcoming Christmas season and various other holidays!

It's March!

This farm is located as you come into town on business 322, South Atherton Street. I love watching the seasons change on this farm - I drive by it regularly on my way to/from a number of locations. It's such a photogenic farm!

It's still winter in central PA - not a lot of snow left on the ground, but temps are hovering around the freezing mark day in and day out.

The twins are now 7 months old - amazing! They are so darned cute & we are enjoying them SO much. We loved having our own children, but were obsessed with how they behaved & what we were supposed to be doing as parents. We loved having our little grandkids living with us for several years, too. But much of that time was spent trying to figure out how not to interfere while still being a big part of their lives. Now, with the great-grandchildren, we're simply living in each moment and enjoying all of the moments.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a lovely snowfall last night - 4" or more of large, wet snowflakes that clung to every surface and sparkled brightly in the dim light... Hope you like the photos!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

These are 1" photo paper 'tiles' with alcohol ink, laid on black & red papers. I'm still playing around with them so they aren't even glued down. But I thought it was a fun way to celebrate V day!
