Here's the baby - note the short wings that are just sort of hanging from his/her shoulders...
Here's a Mommy Goldfinch with two of her young... Mom is brighter at this time of year, the nestlings are dull, as both parents are in winter.

Actually, that would be daddy goldfinch. Females are the same olive color as the babys. Only the males turn the bright yellow......
Sadly, I found a dead Indigo Bunting behind my grape trellis the other day....bummer. I always enjoy seeing the Indigos at the feeder with the finches......
